Health Prevention Days in La Désirade

Two appointments to take care of her health – 25 & 26 July 2025

On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July 2025, La Désirade will host two days dedicated to prevention and awareness-raising around health.

Organized by the Association Hope Health Africa, in partnership with the City of La Désirade, the Club Coeur et Santé, the French Red Cross and the Association Nurses en Mouvement.

These days are free and open to all

Goal: Provide people with access to useful information, screening, and practical advice to better prevent chronic diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, in a friendly and educational atmosphere.

The programme in detail

📍Friday 25 July – 7pm

Location : Orange Tinedor Party Hall – Beauséjour

The first evening will begin with a conference-debate on hypertension, moderated by health professionals. This exchange time will allow the public to ask questions, to better understand the risks associated with this often silent disease, and to obtain concrete advice to prevent it on a daily basis.

📍Saturday 26th July – 8am

Location : Plage du Soubouche

A dynamic and open morning awaits you:

• 🩸 Free screenings : hypertension, diabetes
• 🩺 Meetings with health professionals
• i️ Information and Awareness Stands
• 🥁 10am : Physical activity at the rhythm of the Ka (traditional impacts)
• 🚑 11:00 : Initiation of saving gestures, to know how to respond to an emergency

🌿 An event for the health of all

This initiative aims to make prevention accessible through direct contact with the population in a pleasant and caring environment. It is part of a dynamic of community health promotion, and celebrates local culture through physical activity at the pace of the Ka.
